Re: Pictures of Child With Harlequin Ichthyosis
I cannot believe the second picture... though heartbreaking, I always think that in an early death arising from complications from deformity, any parents should find solace knowing at least their unfortunate kid won't have to suffer any longer.

Re: Pictures of Child With Harlequin Ichthyosis
There's a teenage girl that lives near me that has this disorder. She's probably 14 or 15 and very very very rarely leaves the house. She has very little hair on the top of her head and while her skin isn't cracked and all fucked up like these kids, her skin is bright beet red and she has a lot of flaking. She barely has any eyelids, no eyebrows, and no eyelashes. It's terrible. She looks a lot like Odo from Star Trek with a really bad sunburn. She has a lot of pain and she's lived much longer than she was expected to. She was actually born looking like these kids. She very rarely leaves her home. I've seen her twice and once was when I ran into her and her dad at the pharmacy where they were getting her skin cream and medicine. |
