the pic with the boy and the vulture made me cry, no wonder he topped himself leaving that poor child to its fate like that, I couldnt live with myself either if id done the same. Killed himself frm depression?? guilty conscience more like.

yeah the striking part for me is how it says no one including the photographer knows what happened to the child. Woulda been nice if he had taken the child forhelp after taking the pic that made him lots of money and recognition. That's why he killed himself. He couldn't live with himself and rightly so. Dumb guy.

I'm with Johnleeknoefler and Daughterothenight on this one, its one thing photographing events to raise awareness but topping yourself because of it is just self pity for which I have no time at all, if you want to help make the world a better place then get on with it, if you dont then stay at home!

One of the saddest photos I've ever seen that first one. I don't give a flying fuck I would have taken my shirt off and carried that child to a safe place no matter how long it took.

I'm glad he fucking killed himself. Pieces of shit like that...journalists will do ANYTHING to get what they want. I remember watching a documentary about a photographer in Bosnia during the war. When he saw a teenage girl got wounded and crawl into a car for safety, he filmed her eyes until she died. He just stood there. I hope he died,  too.

Being a photo-journalist does not give you imunity from common decency! If you see someone dying you have 2 choices, you can stand and photograph it so that everyone knows how sad it was, or you can get your thumb out of your arse and try to help them. |
