Re: People Rotten Alive. Russian Drug Krokodil
Know what they say? In Mother Russia....Drugs do you... Seen this all before... But good post none the less.. Another post around here with the girl at the end, an extended version I guess? Still... I can understand how and why they get that far/bad/do this shit... (Granted..I have never done Krokodil, I have all my fingers to type this.) I'm a recovering Alchoholic/Addict, 4 and half years sober. (Drug of choice was the sauce, but for many years...If I could get my hands on something? I'd do it... Done my fair share of nonsense I'm not proud of/said I'd never do etc.... Starts out just chillin'..drinkin some beers, smoking a little pot.. Another time, same scenario, half looped, someone breaks something out..whatever..little line here or something..no worries.. Time goes by, still partying on weekends, becomes weekdays, becomes weeks... And life feels rough and you're already in bad times? that fuck it mode kicks in.. And you end up like these poor souls in this vid here... (Again, may not be krokodil you choose, but meth, heroin, alcohol, benzos, bath salts etc. aren't a much better choice either..) Luckily for me...that bath salt nonsense wasn't around when I was still using.. (My dumb drunk ass woulda tried it..lol) Synthetic pot/salvia was just making the scene.. never messed with either of em.... Why smoke that shit when I had the real deal? (I would have been the actual bath salt zombie! |

Re: People Rotten Alive. Russian Drug Krokodil
This is, sadly, the result of THE WAR ON DRUGS. Once access to a clean, pure, controlled supply of a drug is removed addicts will take whatever they can get. Severe opiate addiction is a terrible, terrible thing and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. For the poster who said they would rather die than take this: That's easy to say when you're not in their situation. The instinct to survive is so strong that you will inject muck into your veins if it means that you will survive one more day. Addiction removes your ability to think long-term. You become so focused on finding the next dose (by this stage they are noway getting high most of the time, just feeling normal) that the long-term effects are something you just can't worry about. It's heartbreaking to see so many people killing themselves when a legally operated, controlled setting where these people could be supplied with pure opiates would solve the issue. It won't fix the underlying cause - it's almost always the case that addicts are trying to numb/forget about some emotional issue. That can only be fixed with therapy. However, it would be a start. No need to mug someone for money if you can get a better, clean dose legally. |
