Penile Inversion Vaginoplasty: Gender-Affirming Surgery Recovery
Penile inversion vaginoplasty is gender-affirming surgery that constructs a vulva and vaginal canal using genital tissue. Inverted penile skin lines the canal, often supplemented with a scrotal skin graft. The clitoris is formed from the glans with its nerve supply preserved, and surrounding tissue forms the labia. Recovery includes vaginal packing, suction drains and a urinary catheter. Dilation helps maintain the canal and requires lifelong maintenance, not just use during initial healing. Separation of the wound edges is common and is usually managed without another operation. In a series of 475 patients, minor tissue necrosis occurred in 24.6% and major necrosis in 0.6%. Reported rates of vaginal narrowing range from 2% to 12%. Penile inversion does not use colon tissue; bowel-based vaginoplasty is a different technique that has fallen out of favor because of mucus, chronic odor and the risks of removing bowel tissue. |

so it's safer to check for both clitoris meat curtains then, those are impossible to recreate, right? In Thailand, this knowledge would come in handy |

Re: Penile Inversion Vaginoplasty: Gender-Affirming Surgery Recovery
In real life people know. Neovaginas made from the scrotum grow pubic hair in them, and they have to keep them from healing closed with what amounts to a dildo. It also doesn't self-lubricate like a natural vagina (it's not a mucous membrane) and it hosts an entirely different population of bacteria. Their "clitoris" is just a semi-buried portion of what used to be their penis. Pseudo female parts made from a portion of colon to simulate vagina mucosa stink like feces. They have to keep dilators in them as well. |

You have to wonder if they do any marketing research before deciding to get the operation. Like that Southpark episode where Mr. Garrison has the operation, and Mr. Slave looses interest in him because Mr. Slave doesn't like vaginas. Do they ask their current partner(s) before the operation? If they have sex with lots of strangers they meet in bars, do they inform them they had a sex change? Serious questions. "Well, I'm not the world's most masculine man But I know what I am and I'm glad I'm a man And so is Lola La-la-la-la Lola La-la-la-la Lola" |
