Penile Degloving: Peyronie's Disease Surgery, Fracture Repair and Injury
Penile degloving can refer either to surgical exposure of the penile shaft or to an injury in which an extensive area of skin is torn from its underlying attachments. Traumatic degloving of the male genitals is an uncommon urological emergency, often caused when loose clothing becomes caught in industrial or agricultural machinery. Treatment includes wound care, removal of damaged tissue and skin grafting. Surgical degloving may be used to expose the shaft during correction of Peyronie's disease, a connective-tissue disorder that causes scarring of the tunica albuginea. Operations for the condition include plication, which shortens the longer side of the penis, and plaque incision with grafting. Penile fracture repair is a separate procedure performed for traumatic rupture of erectile tissue. |

Re: Penile Degloving: Peyronie's Disease Surgery, Fracture Repair and Injury
most of them are penis corrective surgery for Peyronie's disease (aka curved penis).. they have to deglove it in order to get to the scarring tissue and fix the bend.
