It's debated whether alcohol is a factor in acquiring pancreatic cancer, but he was a heavy drinker and a smoker (smoked until his death). Smoking is WAY more of a factor. He started drinking heavily after his father died in the 80's, conincidentally at the same age of 57, from a heart attack. His sister also committed suicide via OD in the 90's. On a side note, I've had pancreatitis, and I've been shot in the thigh. I would gladly be shot in the thigh any day over having pancreatitis again. That was hell. I couldn't imagine what hell Pat went through.

It's one of the most excruciatingly painful ailments I've ever had to endure. It's up there with bacterial meningitis, which I've also had. The spinal tap (or, lumbar puncture) was like a pin prick compared to the agony of meningitis. So, the dancing banana says, stay healthy kids!!!  |

damn!! didnt realise he'd got so bad...thinking on though, most cancer patients do tend to look like skeletons when they die...I've seen it myself....
