Man... the preview pic before I go into the post itself. (Small Pic to left of link)
I was thinking the Hitler thing as well.. Then I read, and see the pic in normal/larger view.. and see that child has some severe birth defects....
What I thought would be a mustache is actually the worst cleft lip/palette I've seen..

Re: Patau Syndrome/Trisomy 13

That is an anomaly the child made it to term. They will likely not make it to adulthood. The alpha fetoprotein test is given when a pregnant woman is 14 weeks. It tests three hormones your liver secrete that are associated with Trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome), Trisomy 18 (Edward's syndrome), & Trisomy 21 (Down's). There is a 90% false positive rate. We were told my middle son had a 1 in 14 chance of having Trisomy 18. We went to this genetic clinic. They said that out of the 23 chromosomes on a DNA strand which both mom and dad bring to make a pair, sometimes during conception there are three on one strand instead of two. It is more common in older mothers and inbreeding. The smaller the number of the pair the larger the alleles and the more DNA. So a trisomy 1 would never make it to the 14 week test because the child would be so fucked up the body would spontaneously abort. Trisomy 23 is basically the sexual organs so trisomy on this is an intersexual or hermaphrodite. They told us this before the level two ultrasound as well as mapped our familial line and whether we had genetic mutations in our family and told us to begin considering abortion. We had an amnio and had to wait two fucking weeks. The day before it would have been illegal to have an abortion I had to call to get the results and they said they were sitting at the lab. My son was fine but I wanted to go postal on that fucking place. We switched OBGYN doctors and I did not do that fucking test when I got pregnant with my third child. However, they did their counseling in-house and their technician said in the case with my middle son they would have rushed the amnio results as they can grow cells to test in 24 hours not two weeks like that other fucking asshole doctor said. Sorry for the rant but the entire ordeal was terrible. I cannot imagine how bad it was for these parents. In hindsight what I went through for a few weeks was nothing like what these parents are enduring. We were also told most cases of trisomy 13 and 18 never make it to term and die in utero. There were websites and picture all over the internet of trisomy 18 babies who died preterm. It is all very sad.

Morbid75, I'm sorry your ex-doc and the clinic put you through all that - however I'm glad to hear your kids are okay.
