Gawdalmighty disgusting! That poor kid must have been born with that cyst, courtesy of mom. I bet she had the worst headache most of her life. The heart ones looked like some kind of liver fluke, or something. Great surgeons.  |

It is a hydatid cyst, not necessarily transferred during pregnancy. More likely it was caused by her eating something infected and the young burrowing into her blood and ending up in her brain... they can be very fast growing so her age does not exclude the possibility.
