Open Pelvic Fracture From Being Run Over By Bus
A 20 year old student was trying to catch a bus and slipped, the bus tyre ran over his right side lower abdomen resulting in a open Pelvic fracture associated on the right side and a closed fracture femur on the opposite side. The closed fractured femur was managed by interlocking nails in orthopaedics. While the open pelvic fracture was debrided, fixed and closed primarily in plastic surgery.  INTRA OPERATIVE PICTURE BEFORE DEBRIDEMENT  FACIAL INJURY AT PRESENTATION  PRESENTING PICTURE SHOWING EXTENDING ABRASION AND EXTENSIVE DEGLOVING OF THE BACK SKIN UP TOWARDS THE SCAPULA AND ACROSS THE MIDLINE POSTERIORLY  INTRA OPERATIVE PRESENTING PICTURE  PRESENTING RADIOGRAPH SHOWING FRACTURE OF THE ILIAC WING WITH SOME BONE LOSS  CT SCAN SHOWING FRACTURE OF ILIAC WING  INTRA OPERATIVE PICTURE SHOWING ILIAC BONE FIXATION WITH TWO RECONSTRUCTION PLATES IN PLASTIC SURGERY  POST OPERATIVE RADIOGRAPH  LATERAL VIEW SHOWING HEALED WOUND WITH PATIENT IN STANDING POSITION |

I've seen it in bus depots here in London  Wonder if any have been hit by a red double decker. Must investigate! |
very lucky if the bus had crushed his ribs and upper torso he wouldn't be as lucky
