Open Knee Dislocation
Motorcycle accident resulting in an open knee dislocation! Knee dislocation caused by high-energy trauma is frequently encountered and requires multiple surgical reconstructions to obtain adequate knee stability. Reconstructive surgery, rather than surgical repair, is recommended shortly after such injuries to obtain optimal clinical outcomes. In addition, the incidence of the associated neurovascular complications is reportedly 29%, since the popliteal artery is quite vulnerable.
