Nope, no cure as it is a genetic disease. It is also accompanied frequently by learning disabilities and food allergies. The bugger of it is that if the tumors are removed they almost always grow right back, as trauma to an area can contribute to a tumor growing. This is an example of NF1. NF2 is much more rare. My little brother has NF1. He's got lots of small tumors that sort of look like... deep cystic acne right now. As he grows older (he's 24 now) they will continue to grow, and new ones will form. He looked pretty normal until puberty. |
