Necrosis And Fibrosis Caused By Cutaneous Radiation Syndrome
Acute radiation syndrome (ARS), also referred to as radiation poisoning, radiation sickness, or radiation toxicity, encompasses a range of health effects that manifest within a few months of exposure to high levels of ionizing radiation. This term is typically used to describe immediate health issues rather than long-term effects. The severity and nature of symptoms depend on the radiation dose received. Lower doses primarily cause gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea and vomiting, as well as issues related to decreased blood counts such as infections and bleeding. Higher doses can lead to severe neurological effects and can be fatal. Treatment for ARS is mostly supportive, involving blood transfusions and antibiotics. Chronic radiation syndrome has been observed in workers from the Soviet nuclear program who were exposed to lower levels of radiation over extended periods. This condition can lead to reduced blood cell counts and neurological issues. Additionally, radiation exposure can increase the risk of developing various cancers, though these are not classified under radiation sickness. |

The last two shots are classic Hiroshima/Nagasaki blast damage shots.
