Looks like tinea versicolor. I get the same thing, usually when the weather is pretty humid. Go to the dermatologist anyway (yeah, why are you asking people on DR?), but in the meantime, try an over the counter anti-fungal cream.

I had a rash like that at the start of summer last year & the doc' said it was ellergy to something, she didn't know what. She gave me some cream to use & it cleared up in about a week

Hehe thanks for the responses guys. I wasnt after a diagnosis, I just though that if anyone had seen a lot of rash and skin pictures it'd be the people of DR  |

first of all, you should've taken pic's lower down your back.... hehehe! Seriously though, if it doesn't itch it's not likely to be anything like shingles..... would try hydrocortisone creme /ointment first. Looks like it might be a simple allergic rash, or perhaps a heat-type of rash. Either way, hydrocortisone won't hurt!
