I looked it up, and apparently you can live without a spleen - if it is diseased or removed the liver takes over, so you're okay as long as you eat healthy and take care of yourself.
Kind of makes you wonder why we even have a spleen and an appendix, since all they are are waste/toxin collectors, can kill you if they rupture, and you can evidently live without them!

Re: Mystery Meat

i think your spleen and apendix are from when humans were mainly raw meat and plant eater's, the apendix would break down the toxins in certain
in certain types of plant's, and the spleen did the same thing by breaking down pathagins and bacteria in raw meet, however, as we became more civerlized and cooked meat, and eat the non toxic green's, these organs became redundant, and as like the tail we used to have to help our balance, in time to come humans will be born without them, darwins theory of evolution.

You can also live without your gallbladder.

I had my gallbladder removed five years ago, right after Thanksgivng. The weirdest part of it was my cat, Snowball, detected the problem just SIX MONTHS EARLIER! R.I.P. Snowball.
