Done to cure numbness in right hand little finger and to stop the pins and needles.
I have been in the past been known to be a slow healer due to Diabetes.
Sorry pictures are not that exciting or gory but just would like to share with you all. Now waiting for left arm to be done

Operation date 15/3/2013

1st picture taken about 2 hours after surgery with pressure bandage on.
2nd and 3rd picture taken day 3 during dressings change. Nurse said i had paper stitches but i can see and feel some threads that could be "real" stitches but will ask consultant in 2 weeks when i go to see him.

I started getting numbness and tingling in my hands a couple of years ago, never had them before that but now they occur quite regular. Wonder what caused it?

I had this same surgery last year..along with Carpal tunnel release on both wrists..My cubital release had a post op infection upon removal of surgical bandages the first day they were off..spent a week in hospital..and yes..You do have sutures in there..they just use those paper "steri-strips" to help keep it closed..
(waste of time..imho..Those things couldn't hold two pieces of paper together..lol)

Not sure if it's because of your diabetes or not..but looks like that doctor butchered you..Was no blood present at all in mine when they took the pressure bandage off a week after the surgery. But when they took it off, I felt ill immediatly, that night I called the doc..fever and all..seen him following day after physical therapy..stuck me in the hospital..took some of the sutures out to get a culture and to let it drain..all better now though.

Here's a picture of mine at the doctor's office a week after the surgery, was the initial dressing I was sent home from the surgical center with that they removed. Note my cubital release was on the left elbow, and I also had carpal tunnel release on the left wrist same time as the cubital release. (can see my sutures/steri-strips)



If that don't take..will just have to post another ..hehe

Sometimes from repetitive strain. My mum had carpel tunnel done on her wrists from years of working with her hands.

Those strings might be for drainage? They don't look like any stitches I have ever seen.

My Doctor did subcutaneous (under the skin) sutures, He left a string hanging out at each end of the the incision with a knot to prevent it from being pulled out. he cuts the knot on one end and pulls it out on the other end to remove them. was pretty neat. Did a good job on the wrists..can't see my wrist's scars unless you actually try and look for them (Incisions were on the creases.)..since my elbow had the infection..a little rough. but compared to some I seen from other people at different doctors..it isn't too bad.

If you look at my picture, there is some drainage..was pouring when they took that bandag off..as I stated, had complication post-op. as soon as the first bandage from surgery was removed was all down hill from there.
They removed the bandage, felt weird..was draining heavily, soaked a towel with clear pink fluid. left, ate..felt ill..went home, napped..woke up aches/pains, fever. seen doc following day , whole arm swollen..in I went..I.V. anti biotics, and an infectious disease doc at my side along with my orthopedic doc..
