Someone posted some, "during surgery", video that came out well! It didn't look too painful.

I'd see a doctor before it got to stage one. There is a tool you can get at drugstore.com, which has never cause me to bleed. You use it like a metal nail file and keep it from going under the skin. I'm not sure that my big toe nails are even ingrown, but, just to be sure...

Damn! I suffer from chronic because my toes are shaped irregularly. The tip of them points upward while my toenails grow straight. Now I just clip the edges every week so they never get the chance.
