My Horse Kick to the Head Photos
I got kicked by my horse in mid 2008 at around 12 years old. Photos are from after surgery. I had a crushed cheekbone, breaks in 3 places of my jaw(2 on the right side and 1 on left side chin-latter was probably stress fracture). My teeth are still disaligned. I had a jaw brace on for 4+ months and had 2 surgeries. My crushed cheekbone was replaced with a silicone implant. My jaw has two pinned/bolted metal plates still holding it. I have a scar which caused dimple and 2 thick albeit small round scars on my left side mandible and right side. and a long surgical scar in my hairline. 1st photo is 2 weeks after sugery.. 2nd photo is in hospital <1 day after surgery. 3rd photo is my face at 2or 3 day post surgery when the swelling came back full force. 4th is 3 weeks after surgery showing how wide I could open mouth. see swelling. 5th photo is showing jaw braces(which are wired into jaw to align teeth and support jaw) complete with dental wax. and the scarring from the injuries and the surgeries and trauma from the braces. 6th photo is late 2008 after braces removed. btw this is my first thread. hope its decent!  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |

Kept the horse after that! He kicked me in the chest a year later while doing the exact same training exercise. Haha. He didn't *****. He was just a dickhead. Hahaha. |

As a kid, I was kicked in the face by a horse, but the injuries were minor, compared to yours. You are VERY lucky it wasn't fatal.

Yes. Doctor said it was 2mm away from a fatal temple hit. 2mm. you can see in first photo the bruise and the diamond shape of the hoof which went from my eyebrow down my jaw. Very fun. You got 18 internal and 18 external stitches in your nose, yes? |
