I pick at my skin , namely on my face..tweezers.. if there is dry or flaky skin, or I scratch my self and have a scab, or I get a zit...tweezers, nail clippers, I have one of those zit popper wands like the doc on here has to pop zits and other nastiness.. Litterally have picked my face apart/open all over to the point I was ashamed to go outside, yet wanted to continue "debriding" all of my scabs and wounds. I've calmed down on this recently..but I can stand at the mirror for hours with a bottle of 95% isopropyl alcohol, and tools.. I actually have memorable scars , on my nose and cheeks.. ever since I was a kid and started breaking out/acne... pick pick pick pick pick  ...My acne never toned down with age and I have pretty oily skin on my face/head.. Have to wash my face at least twice daily less if you touch my face it feels like I poured oil on it.. (Not just a little oil..but it is easily apparent on paper towel/toilet paper etc.)  Yeah I know..pretty gross huh? but the picking is the bad part..  The oily skin thing is just natural..

 Looks at all us DR members....HA we all have issues! Glad Im not the only one! I also play with my constantly and suck my tounge (that one I blame on mom for taking the tit away too early HA)

I wear my hair tied back all the time, and I can't stop pulling my hair out of the tie. Doesn't sound too bad but it's bloody painful and I've lost a lot of hair around my hairline because of it. I also find it hard not to pick the dry skin on my husbands back. If I start I'll pick it till it bleeds.

I have trichotillomania. Started pulling my hair out when the white hair (no, not just grey, PURE SNOW WHITE) started getting worse and worse in 2008. Now in 2014 I have very little control and meds don't help. Have to wear a synthetic $670 wig everywhere I go. Punk hair dye helps cover the white a little. (My brown hair will take purple dye to look deep purple while the white looks pale lavender). I doubt if I'll completely recover. Fuck me.  Everyone tells me to simply stop, as I have nice thick hair. |

I also pick at my skin, not just on my face but everywhere, If I feel the slightest bump I will pick at it until it bleeds, and then I will pick the scab. I don't give it time to heal. My arms and chest are covered in scars and my face is a mess. I think it started as a child when I would pick fleas off of my cats. Even now I still pick at my cats skin even though these ones don't have fleas!
