Motorist on Fire After Failed Suicide Attempt in Amsterdam City Center
A motorist (50) in a red Chevrolet Matiz parked his car on The Dam in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and caused an explosive fire with the intention to kill himself. However after several seconds the heat got on to him and he exited the vehicle and attempted a drop and roll. He was brought to the Hospital and later on arrested.

I wonder if this was a suicide bombing gone wrong. Or gone right, I suppose.

These fools who want people to feel sorry for them light themselves up and it burns. Hot. Very hot. Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea.. just maybe. |

Re: Motorist on Fire After Failed Suicide Attempt in Amsterdam City Center
It is ridiculous that attempting suicide is illegal. At least here where I live, and in my personal experience, it is a law that is largely ignored. (It's also illegal here for a married woman to get a haircut without her husband's permission so it would seem that some of these laws are caked in dinosaur shit but they are still on the books.) I just wonder why the police ignore some laws, enforce others and sometimes even make up their own. (No, Officer Dickface, filming you in public is absolutely not against the law!)

Is there an ER medical person who can speak to what additional complications can occur when you get a 3rd degree burn victim soaked in AFFF like this guy? Does it just wash off or does it increase chances of infection, complicate healing, etc.?
