Motocycle Crash - Arm Destroyed
Aug. 7, 2014 WAVERLY – One person was airlifted from the scene of an Ohio 220 crash Thursday evening involving a Ford Ranger and two motorcycles. According to the Chillicothe Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, Lacey "Tyler" Overman, 31, of Waverly, was westbound on Ohio 220 at just before 6:30 p.m. when his Ranger went left of center and struck the Buell motorcycle driven by Shane Smith, 40, of Waverly, who was eastbound. Scott McMahon, 26, of Waverly, who was also eastbound on a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle, swerved to avoid being struck by Overman and slid off the right side of the road. Overman was not injured and refused treatment from Pike County EMS. Smith was taken by MedFlight to Cabell-Huntington Hospital in West Virginia with what authorities described as serious injuries. McMahon, along with his wife, Katrina, who was also on the motorcycle, were taken to Adena-Pike Hospital for treatment. Waverly Fire & Rescue, Pike County EMS, Waverly Police and the Pike County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation, and the Highway Patrol issued a reminder for motorists to keep an eye out for motorcyclists on the roads.  ·  ·  · |
