Mortar Round to the Stomach
Words from a friend : This happened on an Indian reservation in Washington state. He walked a mile to the nurses tent holding his own guts in. When he arrived the nurse saw him walk up and said “you’ve got to be f’n kidding me”. They were a long way from a hospital and with the 4th of July traffic it took 2 hrs in the ambulance to get there. He had lost almost all his blood and required mass transfusions and plasma to even be brought back. He’s had dozens of surgeries and the recovery to completely close the wound took about 3 years.
