You were awake?  Mine ruptured also when i was 12. I had tummy ache for weeks but they sent me home saying it was period pains  I was at home the night after and suddenly felt really ill, i got up vomiting green gunk all over and curled up on the floor in absolute agony. I was rushed into hospital for an emergency operation where i was put to sleep. They removed the ruptured appendix bits and cleaned up as much of the poison as they could get out of my body then i was fitted with drainage tubes for 3 days. The surgeon told my parents they just about saved me, any longer and i would of died from the toxins. I was home after 1 week. Wonder why it took so long for you to recover as mine was also a really bad case and don't understand why you were awake for something so dangerous  It's normally an operation and not something that is squeezed like a cyst  I have a 5 inch scar on my groin as well from it.

I was wake for all the pressing they even put a phone to my ear and let me talk to my mom... after that bam! I woke up in the hospital ready for some ice cream, ended up getting jello:( They had left my wound open so I could rinse and drain the area(they used a turkey baster and some saline solution) also used a maxi pad for a band-aid I just wanted to go outside and play around, but was hung up the whole time I ended up getting reinfected and back to the hospital 7 weeks that time... good times, good times.I had my tonsils taken out when I was 34... I was awake for that one... FREAKY! when they rush anesthesiologist in from the next room cos your tripping the heartrate monitor for high beats per minute thats exciting  still remember my tonsils laying on that cold steal plate. that one keep me home only a week hurt for a month or so though. Thanks for reading:)
