The lack of burns... That alone tells me this wasn't caused by a phone. Lithium Ion batteries, when they vent/explode are like a torch.. he would have a char on his head somewhere.  |

Looks like someone beat him with his phone, then shoved it in his mouth, then it exploded. Far more believable than their version.  |
