Karla Flores is known as the ‘Miracle Woman’ in her home of Mexico, after surviving a grenade fired into her face. The projectile was fired with a grenade launcher, lodging in her face but not exploding. Four brave medical personnel, along with two explosive experts from the Mexican army, took Karla to an open field to operate on her. The device was extracted from her head by a doctor wearing no armour and guided by military experts.

Seems as though it would be more of a miracle if the grenade went off & she survived, still not a nice thing to have to endure.

I'm guessing it was a 40mm grenade which are spin armed and must travel a certain distance before a sufficient number of spins will arm the grenade.

Still no fun though.
