Re: Mediterranean Reaper Spider Bite Causes Victim's Ear Turn to Turn BLACK
The south is mainly where those nasty things are and the other recluse spiders are pretty much everywhere. I'm in Va. we have copperheads but even though they are poisonous they shouldn't kill a healthy adult. Given the choice I rather not be bitten though. I worry about my dog Fido get bit.

Re: Mediterranean Reaper Spider Bite Causes Victim's Ear Turn to Turn BLACK
I'm from Pennsylvania. We have Brown Recluse spiders and Southern Black Widow spiders.. Seen a few recluse this past summer. Having seen what their bites do in pictures..Knew to steer well clear of them.. This woman was "lucky". Their bite usually kills a good bit of flesh requiring a lot of debridement, wound packing, and in some instances a wound vac. As for snakes? PA is home to Timber Rattlesnakes, Copperheads and the Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake which is endangered. Copperheads aren't that bad.. I still say she is "lucky".. Had there been more venom injected? could have been her whole ear/part of face. |

I thought brown recluse spiders could be deadly, if not treated immediately. I know they leave nasty bite marks that turn black. There is a thread about them on here. Kelly has some of this girl's before shots here: http://www.documentingreality.com/fo...-black-136316/ |
