I believe it is a congenital anomaly (he was born with it)- can't remember the "official" name but as I recall it's like a hemangioma, or a blood filled 'birth mark' for lack of a better word. I want to say it's a cavernous hemangioma but again my alzheimer's is getting in the way.... hahaha
