If that was reversed and a woman was attacked, no one would blame her for fighting back to get away to safety because women are generally not as strong as men, at least as upper body strength goes... Even so, I would have NO problem with a man defending himself enough to get away from an attacking female. There's no reason for this man to have to endure the amount of injuries from this attack just because he's trying to maintain honor. No reason.
