Re: Man Shows Up at the Dentist for the First Time in a Decade

How this mofo don't have decay under all that shit is beyond me! I take care of my teeth and still got problems with decay! Just had 2 fixed 2 weeks ago, 410 bucks and got to get 300 bucks worth done next month! Its a work in progress cause I have no dental insurance. I'm totally addicted to cokes and I believe they have ruined my teeth, decay usually starts behind my teeth right at the gum line, the dentist told me last time that it was getting almost to the point we wouldn't have been able to save my front tooth because the decay was under the gum so far! He fixed it though! Was in chair for almost two hours, didn't think he was ever going stop drilling. I didn't think it was that big because when I would take a mirror and look, it was a small spot but I didn't know the decay had been going g upward into my gum. Jeez, bout another 3000 bucks and mine should be good for a while, that includes 2 root canals and a partial on bottom right! Take care of your teeth folks! I thought I was but.... I also think gentrics play a role too though.

I feel the same way. I carry dental floss with me and use an electric toothbrush.

I have no dental insurance either. Both of my parents just let theirs fall out or had what was left pulled.

I wanted a couple of implants, but, couldn't afford it so I am in the process of a partial. My dentist gave me 20% off, but, I had to put off getting a car until after one more visit. I was already committed.

Pisses me off though! I try so hard to keep them clean.

Dentists and doctors don't bother me. I can fall asleep most times. I don't know if it's the white walls or what.

Coke (the drink lol) is murderous for teeth, the amount of sugar is mindblowing. Youre right about genetics playing a part too, my mum (shes dead now) had beautiful teeth, she was 74 when she died and had no fillings, and obviously no dentures. She had a couple of gold teeth, but they were purely cosmetic, not due to decay. Mine are pretty good, Ive got a couple of gold fillings at the back, im scared to death of the dentists though, but its a necessary evil lol. My kids have both got gorgeous teeth too. I made sure of that.

I'm fairly addicted to soft drinks, so on the advice of my dentist I always make sure to chew some sugarless gum after I have one.

I have to admit I was surprised at how white the guy's teeth were once all the tartar was removed....
