Man Set Himself Ablaze After Cop Confiscated His Bike Due to Lockdown Violation
An Indian man set himself ablaze after cops confiscated his motorbike when he was found flouting lockdown rules. The man, named as 24-year-old Vijay Prakesh, was rushed to hospital after the stunt where he is being treated for burns. Horrifying stills from footage show the architect covered in flames as he walks across the road. A few men are seen dousing him with water, while others trying to cover the man with clothes and blankets to extinguish the fire. A cop is also seen running trying to find something to use to extinguish the flames. Reports say the furious 24-year-old also threatened to kill cops after they confiscated his bike. India's lockdown was ordered on March 24, with PM Narendra Modi warning if the county failed to manage the lockdown, it would "set the country back by 21 years". India was sent into a complete three-week lockdown until April 14, and that was then extended until May 3. But there are fears the world's largest - and one of the strictest - lockdowns could be in vain as many in the densely populated country appear to be ignoring social distancing and curfew rules. Earlier this month, a cop's hand was hacked off as he was attempting to enforce a roadblock outside a vegetable market in Patiala, Punjab, when he was attacked by seven men. Harjit Singh, an assistant sub inspector with the Punjab Police, asked the men for travel passes, when one man brandished his sword and sliced off Singh's left hand. The group, who allegedly belonged to the minority Nihang Sikh warrior sect, were arrested and brought into custody. Captain Amarinder Singh of the Punjab Police tweeted: "Police Party on Naka duty was attacked today in which one ASI's hand was cut off and six were injured. |

Ok, I can see jumping off a bridge over water to my death. Hanging myself, yes. OD'ing on pills and booze, sure thing. Even maybe a gunshot to the head. BUT TO MOTHER FUCKING SET MYSELF ON FIRE???
