Re: Man Removes Lump From Forearm In Self Surgery
an abcess IS an infection...My ex was in the military, and free healthcare WAS THE FUCKING SHIT! I was the healthiest and most taken care of I've been my whole life. My parents were NOT poor, just regular middle class, and it fucking cost them an arm and a leg for shit. You need to be pretty well off for a disastrous medical emergency not to really hurt you financially. But when I was a military dependent, I didn't have to worry abou thtat. I actually got things dealt with quicker (less tended to "wait and see") so I was overall healthier and got it taken care of. I don't know what you're talking about, that it's not all that it's cracked up to be. Yea we pay for it with our taxes, but there won't be bullshit insurance companies trying to gyp us and NOT PAY, even tho we are paying! A lot of honest hard working people who can't afford their healthcare. I had an incident with my eye that happened just after the military coverage stopped and before the 60day waiting period on my ex husbands insurance ended... so they wouldnt pay for my GOING BLIND (yes, a blind spot in my vision). But I made too much money to be on Title 19... and surgery to fix this problem is hundreds of thousands of dollars. I'd be in debt for the rest of my life, surely. With a universal healthcare system, things like that wouldn't happen. It wouldn't matter that it's a preexisting condition. I agree with what you say, Firefly BTW, regarding the OP... did you see him shaking and breathing hard? that shit is scary |

Re: Man Removes Lump From Forearm In Self Surgery
Not sure about that. After all, he ony went to the hospital because he had to (he couln't control the bleeding). In any system, some peeps just have too much pride, they have to show how manly they are, no matter the cost. So, yeah, it could have happened in socialized medecine countries as well, only, in the US, it's a do it yourself surgery, or so it seems. Guys, if you have to do it yourself, please remember that cleaning/rubbing a tool with peroxide and alcohol doesn't make it sterile. Buy cheap, sterile tools at your nearest drugstore. |
