Re: Man Removes Knife Dug Into His Skull
That has to be so surreal to have half your body suddenly paralyzed. Each half of the brain controls the opposite side of the body. Be interesting to see if he is capable of recovery.

Re: Man Removes Knife Dug Into His Skull
Everyone is saying that one side of his body is paralyzed because he got stabbed on one side of his brain, but did he get stabbed in the part of his brain that controls movement? I thought all of that was controlled by the cerebellum, which is tucked in the back of the head. I remember watching an episode of Forensic Files where a kid killed his father by shooting him in the head. It later turned out that the father actually got up after his head wound and went about his typical morning routine completely unaware that he was mortally wounded until he died a while later from blood loss. This was explained because while his cerebrum was mashed to shreds, his cerebellum was still intact and allowed him to perform simple daily tasks with no problem; he went as far as to prepare breakfast and go outside to fetch a newspaper. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if someone had helped him up, but I also understand why they didn't. |
