Man Blows His Leg Off Stepping on a Landmine
24th September 2016, Preah Vihear, Cambodia - A border guard was admitted to hospital following stepping on an old Khmer Rouge landmine from the 1970's. His right lower leg was destroyed in the incident, and he's lucky to have received emergency medical treatment at the accident site.    ·  ·  ·  · |

Someone should have documented where they were all planted so they could retrieve them or blow them up after the war. If I can figure it out, don't know why they couldn't.  |

Poor guy! Surely it isn't that hard to get something or someone in to help find the mines in the area if they have a rough idea of their locations

Do you think a bunch of Communist War Criminals living on fish heads and not knowing if they were going to live from one day to the next gave a shit about what would happen in 2016 while they were burying some lands mines imbetween perpetrating one of the worst genocides in recent history?  |

There are literally tens-of-thousands of them still around. The whole point of placing them was that nobody knew exactly their location was. It doesn't help that Cambodia is in dispute with its neighbours - Vietnam, Thailand and Laos. |

You are so right, Kelly. There are thousands of live landmines all over South East Asia. They are a horrible danger and a fact of life for millions of innocent people.  war is hell!!!
