Man That Was Bitten in Arms and Legs by a Shark
A 34-year-old man was attacked by a shark on Piedade beach in Jaboatão dos Guararapes, in Recife, Brazil on the afternoon of Sunday (15). According to the Fire Department, the call to rescue was made at 2:38 pm.  After the first aid done by two firefighters, the victim was taken by helicopter to the Hospital in Derby, in the central area of Recife. According to the State Department of Health (SES), the victim was referred to the operation room for surgery.  There are lesions in both arms and the right leg of the patient and his state of health is considered serious. On Sunday night (15), the doctors amputated the victim's right leg. According to the Maritime Grouping (GBmar) the man was in an area marked by signs. He was in waist-deep water and was probably bitten first in the leg, tried to defend himself and then was bitten in the arms. Two other men who were in the water together with him helped to remove him from the sea. He was rescued consciously, said a firefighter. |
