In Gamarra, Cesar Department, Colombia, a 35-year-old man, L.M.P.G., was attacked with a machete whilst sleeping in his house by his ex-girlfriend and her lover.

According to preliminary accounts, L., after chatting with some friends during pre-carnival celebrations in the town, went to his abode to sleep. Shortly afterwards, he was attacked, and the two perpetrators stole his belongings, including his motorbike on which they fled the scene.

Hearing his screams, neighbors took him to a nearby hospital, but given the severity of his injuries, he was transferred to Bucaramanga, around four hours away. His health condition is described as "delicate".
