Re: Maggots Eating a Cat's Anus
cats do clean themselves however i would imagine that cat is probably more damaged than just its back end and most likely it probably is in pain and/or is limited in how much it can move. it its back is messed up it isn't likely going to be able to do much preening. poor cat most likely didn't survive. or should i say poor cat was really messed up and probably luckily if it didn't survive.

Re: Maggots Eating a Cat's Anus
Probably had some sort of injury back there, a bite or even a shot from a pellet gun. My granny had a big dog who had free run over the burbs. He had a bad habit of going under bushes and utility trailers to scratch his back. One time he gouged his rump on something. As we were loading him up to the vet I could smell it. It was some rotten smelling stuff. I had an anal fistula once. It started as an abscess. It was huge. When it ruptured, it smelled like dead flesh. Never had maggots! But it was nasty. All healed now though. yay |
