I once knew a guy that was diabetic and an alcoholic and he had convinced himself that drinking actually helped him with his diabetes.

A 'treatment' as it were.

I drank to get rid of my anxiety and what I thought was anxiety which was actually alcoholic psychosis..

Stuff works wonders for depression as well as bi-polar disorder..
