Re: The Lobster Family
Grady was a horrible man who beat his wife and ruled everything and everyone around him. Alcohol made him worse. Mary Stiles is a nice, quiet woman who stays to herself. She and her son were also charged with Grady's death. They served time in Florida prison. Mary's other daughter doesn't want children because she doesn't want to pass on the genes. It is worse in the women than the men. Cathy is a very down to earth person Fred Rosen wrote the book "Lobster Boy" It was pretty close to reality and caused grief for the family when they found he had put Grady's autopsy pictures in his book. |

Re: The Lobster Family
I actually saw this on tv and the fam used to do circus acts but now that that is over, they just do normal work. The mom does work from home and everyone seems to live normal lives. It's amazing how people can adapt to certain obstacles. I have a good friend who is a quadrepeligic and litearlly can only move her head. She is one of the best authors and artists I have ever had the honor of knowing. She does everything with her mouth. Makes me embarassed about myself when I feel too lazy to walk somewhere or go out and do something because she has to rely on her family to do everything for her. I mean everything. She can't just get up and go when she wants. |

Re: The Lobster Family
1) It has nothing to do with inbreeding. It is a dominantly inherited condition, which means even if someone with this condition married a totally normal and unrelated person, their children would still have a 50/50 chance of having the condition. 2) Many members of this family didn't consider their condition to be a disability, just a difference. |
