An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that is not located in the uterus, so no, they cannot do a Dilation and Curettage. In an ectopic, the embryo is usually implanted in the fallopian tubes, but may also implant in the cervix or abdomen. Without surgical intervention, the mother's life is at risk, (because of rupture and hemorrhage). In the very earliest stages of the pregnancy it may be possible to chemically induce the abortion depending on the location of the implantation.
