Large Metal Hook In Head

An ENT colleague brought this x-ray to my attention. Apparently, there was an accident during which a large hook got embedded in this patient's head.

Wow

Pity there was only this x-ray image.

I found the same image on a newspaper site with the following text. I wonder if it is the same person?

A BUILDER escaped alive after a massive industrial hook lodged in his head.

Gail Creek was working on a construction site when the hook slammed into his head and pierced his skull.

Medics used a blowtorch to disconnect it from a metal cable and rushed Creek to hospital in San Antonio, Texas, in critical condition.

They took X-rays before removing the hook.
Both of Creek's optical nerves were severed, leaving him blind.

But doctors are amazed he survived.

He thanked hospital staff, saying: "They've done a real good job."
