Between 1997-2008 I worked in restaurant kitchens, been burned more times than I could remember, like 3-4 memorable burns.
(Had eventually gotten to the point where my co-workers and I would play "Burn-tag", burn each other with a hot skillet/cast iron - "TAG!! you're it!!")
But never had any blister the way some of these people do.
If I did? I probably wouldn't go at it with a little needle, would be full on razor blade or x-acto knife.. (I'm impatient I guess? )

I had a 3rd/4th degree burn on my shoulder about the size of a tennis ball back in 2004-05ish.. (burned into SOME muscle.)
No blister at all.
Just seared/charred into flesh.
Two days later, I finally decided to mess with it (possibly clean it, which I ended up doing).
Hunk of human beef jerky fell off.. was like a small puddle of green pus under the hardened leather like burnt skin, just slid right off. I'm just not cool enough for large blisters..

Here is what it looks like today. (With a U.S. quarter for size comparison.)
In my perspective from this experience, human skin burning smells like burning eggs.

Looks like it happened on top of a tat? To me, burning flesh smells a bit like roasted pork. Have had several burns (used to burn myself instead of cutting).

Do you have any lasting effects from the burn, or did it damage the nerves in the area? Just curious.

That one will take a long time to heal as that sack of skin will turn hard and have to fall off, or removed a few days after air had gotten in and started the healing process underneath

Well.. I don't have feeling where the scar is.. and it probably would have hurt a LOT more if it didn't fry the nerves.. (the muscle hurt though.)
I have burnt flesh on my forearm / hands at work in the past and smelled like burning eggs to me then as well..

It is over a tattoo.. and there is a story involving the kitchen I worked in at the time... (sort of)
The night before it happened. Some of my co-workers were drinking (nightly business for cooks. I was an active alcoholic at the time and continued on until 2009.)
And they decided to get branded..by each other..
They came to work the next day and show everyone their beautiful gross burns/maimings..
So.. after work that night, everyone came to my house to drink. (and we got wasted of course)

And.. suddenly..everyone is in my kitchen with coathangers and pliers hovering over my gas stove...
They decided let's do some more branding!
One of the servers were there, she got a smiley face burnt onto her ass cheek.. the two goofs that started this the night before went at it next, then it was my turn...
Took a coat hanger, formed a big spiral. (kind of looked like a burner from the top of an electric stove, but smaller.) put it in the fire til it was BRIGHT red hot.. I grabbed the door knob to my back door.. and the guy pushed the steel design swirley hard into my shoulder (it sunk into my flesh)..voila! (this was the second attempt, first attempt, the branding iron/coat hanger snapped from heat/pressure on my skin.)

Now, keep in mind.. most home brandings people use paper clips, and professionals use small stiff wire or a heat gun. NOT thick coathanger or wire.

I didn't think you were supposed to pop big burn blisters like that- the liquid is there to help heal it?

Popping blisters is cool!! Then slicing away at the hard skin around the edges, when it dries up. Mmmm mmm mmmm! I'm not a self harmer, but I am a scab picker and ex- mental health nurse. I miss not having nice wounds to clean and dress. I know this is gross, but I even pick little scabs off my cats!
