Yes, it never ceases to amaze me when I see stuff like this and you wonder how it got that far without the person seeking medical attention or someone seeking it for them. I don't think some of us are not as evolved as we'd like to believe...

Some people are ashamed of it, or they've been told by others to just ignore it, or they don't have health insurance and so the only time they go to the hospital is when they are brought in unconscious. Quit trying to find someone to blame, there are many reasons they didn't get it checked right away.
