It is unusual for tonsils to touch or meet in the midline without protrusion of the tongue.When tonsils meet in the midline or overlap, they are called "kissing tonsils".

my tonsils are naturally pretty big and just about touch even when nothings wrong. i dont really have any problems with them every either. actually makes it harder to go deeper with head though so your not getting too much extra pleasure from it.
