Re: Kid Having a Seizure

aw, poor little rugrat. . . once as a kid, i dropped a puppy (accidentally) and it had a seizure. one of the scariest things i ever saw, and that wasn't even *my* puppy. i can't imagine being a parent and having it be my kid.
ps, the puppy made a full recovery

Re: Kid Having a Seizure

Poor little thing. I know I can often be cold towards babies, but once they start talking I feel for them. I'm glad he at least has some caretakers who know exactly the right way to help him through it.

Re: Kid Having a Seizure

It's likely that they are filming the seizures on the advice of the kid's doctor. It's very difficult to diagnose something that happens at random, and the doc needs to see how it manifests in the child in order to properly evaluate it. Filming is often done with pets, too, for the same reasons. Young children and animals are not able to articulate their experiences, nor do they even remember what goes on during the seizure. Dad was doing the right thing in keeping the camera rolling. It will help his son.

Re: Kid Having a Seizure

Watched my kid have a fever induced seizure once, one of the scariest things a parent has to witness, I cried for mommy too I dont blame him. I cant handle shit like that and panic, mothers are usually good in that area. As far as the screaming in the backround, not sure what the fuss is. An infant screaming in a crib is the least of there worries at this point. Been a parent long enough to know if they are screaming, most likely nothing is wrong, except tired, gassy or hungry

Re: Kid Having a Seizure

I've never seen anyone have a seizure before. I did witness a massive coronary failure but it was somehow not as frightening as that. I believe the sacrifice of letting a little one cry for 10 minutes is well worth the educational results this video attained. Kids don't die from crying, parents know the sound of their own childs cries and if the baby in the background became distressed, one of the parents would have tended.

I work with autistic kids and a couple of my clients have Grand Mal seizures, its a very scary thing, especially seeing one for the first time.
