The "JewelEye" Procedure From The Netherlands
The JewelEye, a patent-pending form of extraocular implant, was developed by Dr. Gerrit R.J. Melles (MD PhD) at the Netherlands Institute for Innovative Ocular Surgery. It involves the implantation of a small piece of platinum jewelry in the superficial interpalpebral conjunctiva of the eye. There is no damage to either visual performance or mobility of the eye. Healing is uneventful and involves nothing more than a course of antibiotic drops such as tobramycine. As of this writing, this procedure is currently only offered in the Netherlands at two clinics, the Cornea Clinic in Rotterdam and Retina Total Eye Care in Driebergen. It is an outpatient procedure currently priced at 750 Euros. More information can be found on their website at niioc.nl. First: the morning after, the other two pictures: the evening of the day after. The redness above the implant is bruising from the incision and will go away. |

Dumb bitch. Hope she develops an allergic reaction to the metal and scratches her eye out. Seriously, how stupid is that? This shows you how people are sheep. Someone told her that it is perfectly safe to do and she thinks to herself "they said it was safe so it must be true! Let's put metal in my eye! Great!" |

Yeah this makes absolutely no sense. I got i-lasik. It has been great, I love it. But I got it because I couldn't see. I don't know why someone would make a permanent incision in their eye that will never heal all for a piece of metal. She will always have that flap of skin there. Moron. |

Re: The "JewelEye" Procedure From The Netherlands
what happens if she gets elbowed in the eye? did she ever think that the metal can do damage to the iris or pupil if it shifts in an accident? guess not. |
