Guessing... Going from her apparent ancestry, I'm thinking she could be a victim of napalm bombing in Vietnam. The lighting, colours and plastic fashion accessories seem compatible with that era.

I love National Geographic photojournalists.. such amazing work, and the way they're able to capture every single one of those 1,000 words in a photograph.. Poor girl :( I hope she can still see that she is a little princess, despite what this world has done. |

Man Sharon you always know how to get me. There are certian things that even now after all these years working in the medical field get to me and this is one of the big ones. I hate to see children who have been burned. We used to get several a year at my hospital as we were both a burn center and a pediatric ICU . Poor kids would be in so much pain while in hospital and the scars they were left with even after treatment so so so bad. Let this be a lesson to all of you out there with little ones. Keep those pot and pan handles facing in towards the stove so they can't get knocked off of the stove on to a little one. I sure hope the girl in this picture is ok and gets to lead a good life. |
