Munich – It begins with a (damp) happy get-together at the Oktoberfest in the Hofbräuzelt – and quite harmlessly. But after a few measures, the US engineer Tesia D. (30) argues with the Australian Ben M. (23). And badly. A scuffle ensues - and suddenly she bites the young man's lower lip and tugs at it so hard that a piece tears off. Tesia D. is in custody. Now she is being tried before the district court for intentional bodily harm.

It all happened on September 27th, around 3:10 p.m. in the afternoon. A guest in the Hofbräuzelt accidentally captures the act of violence with his cell phone camera: Tesia D. is sitting at the table. She is wearing a yellow dirndl with a white blouse. You see two young men in leather pants and checked shirts. They stand close to the American woman's table. Suddenly Tesia D. jumps up from her bench and moves in the direction of the two Australians. She punches Ben M. in the face three times. She stumbles and falls to the ground. She hits him in the face again. None of the guests intervene. Only Ben M.'s boyfriend tries to separate the two. No sign of security. Tesia D. and Ben M. face each other. They tug at each other's hands. You're going to tear something from him. Neither of them gives up. Suddenly Tesia D. comes very close to the young man's face with his mouth wide open. Then she agrees. In the film you can see how violently the woman pulls on her lower lip. Ben M. tries to push the woman off with his right hand. His friend wants to help him. Tesia D jerks off. Ben M. staggers back. A mutual push follows. Then the movie ends.

Tesia D. is immediately taken away by the alarmed police. Ben M., a magistrate from Melbourne, comes to a clinic. The doctors are trying to sew on the three centimeter long piece of the lower lip. But the tissue is rejected. Only after three more surgeries in Australia is the lip restored. But the man still can't bite off food or kiss it - and he's been traumatized. Tesia D. has already paid him $15,000. Defense attorney Hartmut Giershausen: "The two fought over my client's camera. It was not possible to clarify exactly why there was a dispute.” One thing is certain: Tesia D. had a blood alcohol content of more than 1.7 at the time of the crime. Ben M. was also heavily intoxicated. He is not to be heard as a witness. Giershausen is certain that his client will be released after the trial: "The flight has already been booked."
