Is This Infected (Serious Medical Question)
I am PROBABLY gonna regret coming here because what I'm posting isn't particularly gory or disgusting, but I have an actual medical question and being that this is the medical forum and some people seem KINDA knowledgable about shit...especially something as simple as this, I'm gonna go ahead and ask. My lizard, though fairly small (about three to four feet right now) scratched the fuck out of my arm. It was the worst shes' ever scratched me really. No, it's no iguana scratch where I'm missing half my arm, but hard enough to bleed and break skin nonetheless. For a while I was like, fuck it I'm not going to get infected whatever. It's not even that bad. But it was that bad...Started throbbing really bad after about an hour and I had to wash it out with hot water (and cold to try to dull the throbbing ache) Skip to like three days later and it's healing but I've got a very peculiar spot here... One of the places itches very badly, which I know happens during healing but it also hurts. It's sore and hard under one part of my arm. I can touch any other part of the wound and it doens't feel like anything but it's like there's mass underneath this part. So here is the pic: ![]() It's the part closest to the camera. For the hell of it, the asshole who did it: |

Re: Is This Infected (Serious Medical Question)
I used to cut myself a lot…and up to 3 days after the cuts would be swollen and throb like that. I would worry my cuts were infected but they never really were and the swelling went down. Hard to tell from the pic….but it doesnt look too bad. I think if U develop a fever or any other symptoms, dont worry too much about it. |

Re: Is This Infected (Serious Medical Question)
Just to play it safe I think a deep lancing to visually inspect is the tissue is strongly suggested, don't don't forget to upload the video and share. Seriously, as mentioned above the wound looks ok, use a anti-bacterial creme and it should fine. IF it gets worse don't fuck around and get medical attention ASAP, I'm sure the nails have all kinds of bacteria and could turn into MRSA pretty easy. |
