From the perspective of a former piercer, I never was fond of the "industrial" piercing, especially done with a rigid barbell like that. You can tell from her first pic in the video that the bar was too short to allow for swelling. As far as the "mystery bacteria" if she's referring to MRSA (or any other type of bacteria) I'm a little hesitant to blame the piercing shop since there's really no way to know if she had touched the piercing with dirty hands and gotten the bacteria in there that way or not; however there are various different bacterial spores that are able to survive being autoclaved which is why shops are supposed to have their clave tested once a month. The fact that the doctor says that she got it from the shop means nothing to me, because a lot of drs are misinformed about the piercing industry, and they're more than happy to stay that way.
