This boy was out fishing with his parents when this needlefish jumped through the waters impaling him in the neck.
He was fishing in South East Sulawesi January 18th. The needlefish ‘flew’ in their direction impaling itself in the unsuspecting teens neck narrowly missing life giving arteries.

Five doctors including three surgeons and two anesthetists helped remove the impaled needlefish from the patients neck. This took two hours to perform.

He is now recovering. Doctors will monitor his case for the next few days in case of infection.
