Re: I (Sharon) Have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

Had the 1st cervical rib resection surgery done on March 2nd this year. Went well, despite the brutal pain! Had to take Oxycodone and oxycontin for a month afterwards but am now on Tramadol and paracetamol with occasional dihydrocodeine if needed

My symptoms have been reduced by 85% so is classed as successful Surgery was well worth it and I am so grateful to my amazing surgeon for what he did.

Funny, he said, "you don't look it but you're very muscular so I had to remove quite a bit of neck and shoulder muscle as it was impacting on the artery also".

No wonder I'm good at arm-wrestling then. Honestly!! I am strangely strong when it comes to arm wrestling

Re: I (Sharon) Have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

My mom had this and had her first rib removed, too. When she bears down, you can see the top of her lung protrude.

Does yours, too?

Your poor mum!

I'm glad to say that I don't have any lung protrusion but I don't like the area at my collarbone felt as it's weird

Good to see that you are doing well.

All things considered.
